Budget Conscious?
We strive to keep our rates as low as possible and find ways to make our services available to everyone. Use this checklist to get the most for your healthcare dollar.
Spend some time on self-education in our library and at the website of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians to gain a better understanding of our approach to healthcare.
Schedule a free 15-minute consultation at either office to learn more about naturopathy and what to expect at your first visit.
Fill out the entire intake form found here prior to your first office visit to reduce time spent on health history and background.
Fill out a diet diary for one week prior to your visit. Do Not alter your diet or leave out the package of cookies you ate for breakfast or you may render this diary useless.
If you have a Healthcare Savings Account (HSA), look into the details of your plan. Most will reimburse you for supplements and services at INC.
Look into the details of The Itasca Plan here to determine if it is right for you. Most new patients and those with frequent visits will see a benefit by signing up for this savings plan.
Schedule your visits as soon as you notice symptoms. Patients who have frequent brief appointments spend less total time in the office and feel better than those who wait until symptoms have progressed or numerous complaints have accumulated.
___ Ask your ND about insurance coverage for labwork.
___ Make sure the people you refer to us list you as the source of their referral on their intake form. You will receive a certificate good for a free BIA ($25 value) at your next visit.
At Itasca Naturopathic Clinic, we perform physical examinations, laboratory testing, gynecological exams, nutritional and dietary assessments, metabolic analysis, allergy testing, and other diagnostic tests. Naturopaths are the only healthcare practitioners clinically trained in the use of a wide variety of natural therapeutics. We combine and adapt these treatments to the needs of the individual based on a cogent philosophy that acknowledges the patient as a participant.
Naturopathic medicine is effective in treating most health problems, both acute and chronic. Some of the therapies we use are described below:
Clinical Nutrition is a cornerstone of naturopathic medicine. It refers to both the practice of using food to maintain health and the therapeutic use of food to treat illness. Scientific research has shown that many medical conditions can be treated as effectively with food and nutritional supplements as they can by other means, with fewer complications and side effects.
Homeopathy is a powerful system of medicine that is more than 200 years old. This medical system uses highly diluted substances to cure illness. Homeopathic remedies act to enhance the body’s innate immune response and rarely have side effects. Some conditions that do not respond well to conventional medicine will respond to homeopathic therapies.
Botanical Medicine is the use of plants as medicine. Many plant substances are powerful medicines that are safe and effective when used properly. A resurgence of scientific research in Europe and Asia is demonstrating that some plant substances are superior to synthetic drugs in clinical conditions.
Counseling and Stress Management. Mental attitudes and emotional states can be important elements in healing illness. Our training includes counseling, nutritional balancing, stress management, hypnotherapy, biofeedback and other methods.
